It can be tough to cope with
exam nerves but it's not unusual to have some form of nervous tension when exam
time comes around, as strange as it may sound, these nerves can be beneficial.
They can be used to get the necessary motivation.
But for some people these nerves become all consuming.
Then it becomes a problem!

Tips to Reduce Exam Nerves
- See a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist - this is my biggest tip. We have already done it! ;-))
- Be organised, be prepared! This will allow your mind and thoughts to be calmer because you will know that you are doing all the right things, and when it comes to the exam you can just use it as an opportunity to show what you have learned.
- Set yourself time to do some relaxation exercises, yoga or meditation.
- Set achievable goals - if you set targets beyond your capabilities you will fail, putting added pressure on your mind and in your thoughts. If you set yourself up for success, your mind will be calmer and much more able to deal with the studies and upcoming exams.
- Know that you can do it - believe it! Believe in yourself! Sometimes easier said than done, this is where some of the previous tips can help i.e. hypnotherapy, or relaxation techniques.
- Look at the big picture - keep it all in perspective, it is an exam and it is important to do your very best for yourself, but this is a small part of your whole life.
- Talk to a friend, family member, colleague, teacher or anyone who will listen - this will help to lessen the burden that you are feeling.
- Exercise - excercise is said to sharpen the mind, it is a good time to release any built up tensions and let your mind be somewhere else for a while.
- Take a break from studying - if you have the time and all else is failing, get your mind away from studies until you feel ready to take it on again (don't use this to give yourself an excuse to avoid doing what you need to do though!!!
